It's no wonder that chopped sandwiches have gone viral – they're quick, easy and perfect for a high-protein working from home lunch. Not familiar with the term? A chopped sandwich simply means chopping up all of the sandwich fillings together on a chopping board, then stuffing into your choice of bread. You'll achieve the perfect bite every time and it means you'll never need to visit the deli again. We've used bagels in the recipes below, but feel free to use your favourite bread.

The classic bagel
We love a good bagel for lunch, and nothing beats the classic smoked salmon and soft cheese combination. We've taken it to the next level by chopping all of the filling ingredients together before assembling to achieve the perfect balance of flavours in every bite.

100g soft cheese
100g smoked salmon
4 dill sprigs, leaves picked
½ small red onion, sliced
¼ cucumber, halved
2 tbsp capers
1 lemon, zested
1. Put the soft cheese, smoked salmon, dill, red onion, cucumber, capers and lemon zest on a chopping board. Finely chop all the ingredients together to combine, and season to taste. Spread on top of the toasted bagels and serve.
Tuna niçoise bagel
Are you a tuna niçoise fan? If you're looking for a quick and easy lunchtime idea, then this high-protein bagel will keep you fuelled all afternoon.

1 egg, at room temperature
3 tbsp soft cheese
½ tbsp Dijon mustard
4 romaine lettuce leaves
92g can tuna in olive oil
1 lemon, juiced
30g sundried tomatoes
25g pitted black olives
50g green beans
½ small red onion, sliced
2 basil sprigs, leaves picked
2 bagels, sliced and toasted
1. Bring a small pan of water to the boil and cook the egg for 8 mins. Drain well, cool slightly and peel. Set aside. Tip the green beans into the same pan, cover with boiling water from the kettle and salt well. Bring to the boil and simmer for 3 mins until tender but still retaining a bite. Drain and put in a bowl of cold water until needed.
2. Put the soft cheese on a chopping board along with the boiled egg, green beans, mustard, lettuce, tuna and the oil from the can, the lemon juice, tomatoes, olives, onion and basil leaves. Chop all the ingredients together to combine, season and spread over the two toasted bagels to serve.
Chicken caesar bagel
Introducing our creamy chicken caesar chopped bagel – a high-protein, flavour-packed lunch that takes just 10 minutes to prepare.

2 tbsp soft cheese
6 romaine lettuce leaves, torn
3 tbsp caesar dressing
1 cooked chicken breast
20g shop-bought croutons
20g parmesan, sliced
2 bagels, sliced and toasted
1. Put the soft cheese, lettuce, caesar dressing, chicken, croutons and most of the parmesan on a chopping board. Finely chop all the ingredients together to combine, and season to taste. Spread on top of the toasted bagels. Sprinkle over any remaining parmesan and serve.
